HMRC’s Anti Money Laundering Supervision (AMLS) changes name
From 1 April 2021 HMRC Anti Money Laundering Supervision (AMLS) will be known as Economic Crime Supervision (ECS). This is one of many changes we will see over the course of time linked to Brexit.
This change won’t affect HMRC’s responsibilities under the Money Laundering Regulations or how they interact with us.
So what does this mean for you and my clients? Nothing. This will not affect our current due diligence on the processes we are required by law to undertake on our clients in order to provide book-keeping services. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed they will find a way of making the process simpler but I won’t hold my breath!
It will take a while for me to stop using the term AMLS – but here goes……
